I just got my invite and I got a number!!!
WOW, you guys need to get it and mess around with it!!
If it's anything like Gmail, you have the power to make that happen.
all my invites started coming in they all have different tags, so i think they are good to be forwarded (you need a gmail account, though)
I don't see the big deal about it. I have heard people say good things, but I don't see why it's so important.
Maybe it is just that I do not have a use for it personally.
do you even know how it works??
it's really amazing.
don't knock it until you try it and it's free!!
What is it?
i'll hit you up on IM after i eat a sammich
Way to message me back, NGayL
Seems pretty cool, but I don't know how useful it is for me, since I don't even have a land line, and any work-related calls I need to take go to my office anyway. The transcripts of the voicemails seem like they could be pretty handy, though, and a few other features.
Wow, iNJaiL, I haven't seen you this excited since the snuggie!
Why are invites and PMs needed? What the heck is going on here?
My god this looks good.
Let me Google that for you
It's just the way that Google keeps everyone from making a mad rush at their servers all at once and it also creates buzz and an "I want that!" craze.
They did the same thing for a long time when they rolled out Gmail.
All google did was buy out Grand Central. Grand Central was doing this same damn thing at least a year ago.
But did Grand Central have the "Google" name on it? I didn't think so.
Thus, Google Voice is better.
Does it do porting of your existing number?
Someone can answer me or maybe Nino will do a "let me Google that for you" for me on this question too.
It sounds like no porting is involved. It simply forwards to your existing service(s).
So, uhh... Anyone have an invite they can spare?
