I love it!!!!
If it hasn't happened by now....
I've always wanted to try one of those, but the headstocks are just not my cup of tea on any 7+ string bass I've seen. I'm much too in love with Warwick, Modulus, etc headstocks. I don't know what it is about thouse. Probably place nice though
Meh... each to his own. But yes, they do play and sound very nice!!
Mark- you are a brave soul, my man....
i had a Dickens 7 for a week and i wimped out..
my, those are some long pickups you have there!!
Yes, Chris Stambaugh can cook up a wicked bass, and it won't cost you your shirt, either. I very nearly ended up with him for my coming seven (I also nearly ended up with Bee) but in the end I decided to shop locally.
Lovely eight stringer. Looks so natural.
Here's the BEE "Wicked GAS" 8.
IMHO design-wise this BEE comes in between the Stambaugh 8 and your Conklin 8 - it has a bit of both and yet it is unique.
Wenge top?.. SWEET
hey, that's stew's bass sweet...
Hey your 7 string that you are selling looks really nice there. Why does the overall look look better to me there then your other pictures?
Hey Mark, I'm going out on a limb and guessing that you like Conklins.
This pic was taken with a flash.. The others used natural light, so the colors are a little more subdued.
I first saw one of Chris Stambaugh's basses on Bass Alone's Web Site for sale used (it's still there... http://www.bassalone.com/stambaugh6.html ) and thought it was a fantastic instrument!! Saw some more on Luthiers Access and checked out his web site and I would say that I absolutely LOVE at least 50 % of what he does (and being that he does what the customer wants that's good odds and beats out most other custom builders, probably everyone except Ken Lawrence) I haven't made the financial leap to a custom made instrument myself yet but If I ever can, odds are it will be a Stambaugh. I live relatively close by too and was going to call and see if he would mind if a poor bassist stopped in to dream and when I'm on vacation in that area this summer.
What kind of pickups are those?
That thing is Gigantic, Are their strap buttons on it?
Hey Mark, does your seven have midi output?
Kind of looks like a wishbass
I agree man Carpal tunnel indeed, but i have to say it does actually look pretty cool, I just doubt I could play one. I have trouble with 5-strings.
No, no MIDI on the hollow 7.
