I just bought a 1966 mustang bass in pieces.($160) :hyper:
This guy had it painted years ago by an auto body shop in a funky brown faux finish :eyebrow: . Anyway, it's missing the gears on the back of the tuners and one of the bezels that go on top. All the hardware is kinda rusty. Is it a bother to try to buff out the chrome or will it look cheesey? I'll post in the wanted for some replacements or maybe I'll get some new ones and steal the gears off those.
My other question was, this same feller had a 68' precision bass with 2 p- pick ups. They were white and the body was natural. Was this an original set up with 2 sets of P pups? It's too old to be an Elite...Was wondering what it might be worth. It also had unoriginal grover tuners and a badass bridge fwiw.

That's nowhere near original, but may be a really great player ... and since its so heavily modded it should be reasonably priced!
