  9. Anodized.

  10. I chose a cream pearloid on mine, but before that I didn't use a pickguard at all. With maple it's a toss up between gold and parchment. With chrome hardware I like parchment, with gold hardware I'd go with gold. With a rosewood neck then I'd go tort. They all would look great. You can't lose either way.

Here is a '72 J I regret selling about 10 years ago. It's hard to tell but it's a Tort p/g on there as well.

  13. Tort or white pearloid. Actually, get both. That way you can completely change the look of your bass as you please.

    Black.

Black + Trans White = Teh Sex.

    Rosewood or Maple.

  15. Black Black Black Black number 1.

It is. Black on the trans white will have a nice, simple, classy look.

  16. If I owned it, I would immediately take that pickguard off and replace it with a solid-color one. Probably black. Maybe white, with black edges.

Not me! I love the white pearl on white with maple. About 8 years or so ago I came real close to buying a MM Stingray 5 in White Sparkle with maple board and white pearloid p/g. It was stunningly beautiful, and I wish I'd have pulled the trigger on it. It even had the white pickup covers on it. They stopped making the White Sparkle finish not long after that, which makes it even more painful that I didn't buy it when I had the chance. :bawl:

    I like the gold.

It gives it a sort of 50's look.

    I meant Pearl Block Inlays!

Regardless, that's one of the sexiest basses I've ever seen.
