You know the expression "Sucker born every minute"?

He's high if he thinks he'll get that price from a knowledgable shopper. However, Bassman's "Sucker Postulate" could quite possibly find him a willing buyer.

I wouldn't pay that even if Duff McKagan came with it.

This bass used to be a pretty good deal at around $500 used. In fact, it still would be, but anything more than $500 and it's, well, not.
  7. Ugly thing ain't it!

I'm not ready to judge like you other guys here, clearly the guy's wife is wanting him to clear the stable and this way he can pretend he's at least trying ;)

This is appears to be a pawn shop, not some player.

Hey come on, it has a "percision" body and "full" 22 frets (better than half full I guess.)

There's one exactly like it on Reverb.com for $800. That's quite a jump to $2575!

Well, it is "The hottest bass Fender ever produced", so that's gotta be worth something. I'm just bummed I sold one for $500 or so several years ago. If only I'd waited.

    Even that is too high...

$400-$600 is about the going rate depending on color. $2500 is outrageous.

There was one on GC's used site for $400 the other day, and they've got one for $500 now.

Anything is worth exactly what someone else will pay for it. I hope he gets his money, but it won't be my dollars!

I had a buddy that had one in late 80's. They are pretty sweet basses if a little scooped out. But under $1000.00 for sure. They are not THAT great. Not 70's jazz price great. Good thing it has 'full frets'. Maybe a GnR freak will buy it.

…and looks to be older than I am! :spit:

By the way, did anyone notice the eBay handle of the seller? I think that explains the slight uptick in price.

Yeah, I agree, way too much money for one.
I'll sell you mine (the one I'm playing in my avatar) for $2,000. (Ha!)

Don't you guys get it? The bass is only $500, but it's another $2000+ in shipping (also, you should consider it's got a carbon fiber head).
