Absolutely gorgeous, amazing bass! Could you go into the upgrades that make buying a new one like this worth almost $10k? I've been drooling over the F Bass website, looking at the AC Signature and AC Classic basses, their starting prices are $6400-6800 with similar materials listed (3-piece maple neck, Gabon ebony fingerboard, chambered maple body, redwood top for AC Classic). Just trying to get a comparison of this one vs buying a new one. Thanks! EDIT: Just did a little more digging on the FBass website bass builder section. Looks like figured/burled rosewood adds $1900 and the ebony bridge adds $300. Hard to tell, but I think the standard build is a 3-piece maple body and this one is a one-piece, which would add more $, bringing it likely into the $9k range. I think I pretty much answered my own question!
Thanks for the digging, you are certainly correct, every detail that goes out of the ordinary will add $. The sound is amazing, I tweaked the truss rod to give more relief to the neck, since I like medium high action. WOW!!!! The sound opened up, more sustain, more punch. The only reason I am selling is to cover some expenses for a family duty. If I can pull out the $ from other sources I will keep the F AC 5.
If someone doesn’t buy this, that’s crazy. If I didn’t acquire 2 BnF5’s in the last 3 years, this would be coming to NJ
