Despite being a native Texan for 36 years and traveling pretty extensively around the US I'd somehow never made it up to Oklahoma until this week. Here are the highlights so far:

Most city water towers just have the city name on them. I saw one that said "BIG LOTS!" on it.
We ate our lunch at The Confederate Memorial Museum and Rest Stop.
In my hotel room there is a bottle opener mounted on the bathroom wall across from the toilet.

I'd say so far it's living up to the hype!

No pics, no Oklahoma. Proof, or it doesn't exist.

No pics. Camera was packed away in the back for the Big Lots tribute and the confederate rest stop. Didnt think about taking a pic of the bottle opener and we checked out this morning.

This morning's entertainment was provided by dude buying a 27 cent cup of water at the gas station and paying entirely in pennies.

I think I'm actually OK with that.

Today we will be driving through Arkansas. That'll be a whole new thread I'm sure.

  8. You planning on hitting up any casinos?

If you want to really experience Oklahoma visit Norman during football season
  10. I spent a week in Tulsa on business a few months ago. Pretty much the most boring city I've ever been too. Even more boring than Cleveland.

I was just in Oklahoma on Friday - I was visiting my Dallas relatives and I went to the Winstar Casino right on the TX/OK border.
