nice bass! what kind of sound do they have?
  2. Check Green Day.

Anything from Insomniac and before are the best examples of what I can think of of this particuler bass!

I already have a Grabber (as used by the dude from Kiss) and I can get that sound, but I don't have the amp means to really get that chunkyness.

I can't WAIT to see what happens! The bass is IMACULATE!

Longveiw, Stuart & the Ave, Welcome to Paradise, some examples. :)
  3. Care to explain the differences between a Ripper and a Grabber?

  4. The Ripper has the EB style bridge, where you can adjust everything.

Ripper is also neck-trho', whereas both Grabbers are bolt-ons.

The Grabber has a single soapbar like pickup which you can "slide" to produce different tones (imo i can get 4).

The G3 has 3 Jazz style(???) pickups and a series/paralell switch (i think).

The Ripper has a pickup selector switch with 4 "settings" and 2 soapbar style pickups.
A lot of people prefere The Ripper, I have never played one though, only a Grabber.

I love Mike Dirnt's old tone, and while I know I won't get it by getting all his gear, nor do I wish to be him, Im sure I will like this bass.

remember, the more pickups the better a bass is!! :D :p
