I have a Hartke 210XL cab. I am looking at either a 410 or a 115 to go along with it. Here's my deal. I was all set for getting the 115 as it would be a lighter rig, but still plenty enough for my needs. Then, I started thinking of the 410. That would give me essentially a 610.

My old rig used to be a Peavey 410 and 115. But, now I have this 210, this world is a bit newer to me. What would the advantages be with either cab to go with my 210?

And I know. I looked at threads on here, but wanted to see some opinions that directly referred to my question. And since I already bought a 210XL, I'm sticking with the XL line.

    Thanks for any opinions!

I know this equipment well. Unless something has changed they are both 8 ohm cabs and the 2x10 will recieve the same power as the 4x10 . Not a good match. So to me the 115XL is a better choice . If you can find a 2.5XL that would a good match. It goes lower then the 210XL and has the 5 inch mid speaker. Just my 2 cents.

  3. Do you like the sound of your 210 right now? If you do, add a second identical 210.

  4. A 115 is a perfect mate for the 210 IMO.
    My main rig is this......

    It sounds great.

  5. Im glad it works/sounds good to you, but IMHO the perfect mate for his 210 is a matching 210. ;)

I do like the 210. So, it seems the 410 would be out. The 115 was my first choice. I've never heard 2 210s together. So, now I have to decide between another 210 and a 115.

  7. If I was going to run full range 10's in any fashion, it would be two 210's stacked vertically.

IMHO it is the best/only way to run them for me.

I got a great deal on used Hartke 410 & 115 cabinets. I use the 5500 head. I like to have that extra bottom the 15 provides. I always use the 410 on top so I can hear myself. Years ago I had SVT with 810 and it was loud for sure, but never had the bottom end that I personally like.

:rollno: It doesn't work like that, and the topic has been beat to death. But, very happy you're happy with your rig, as that's all that really matters. To the OP, get a 2nd matching 210 if you want to experience spkr coupling, or go with the 15 if you don't care. Read up on this topic, there's plenty of info here on TB and elsewhere.

    Yep on all this.

And, yes, stack the 210s vertically.

I ran this rig for a stretch with no issues. The cabinets shown are Transporters, but I also used a MusicMan HD-130 into a 410XL for a practice amp and was quite pleased with the sound.

Yeah I know. That's why I included this line in my OP.
