Opinions of Ibanez Acoustics

Discussion in 'Basses [BG]' started by Eric Cameron, Dec 23, 2004.

  1. No, not the uprights, the acoustic bass guitars. There's on at the local GC that I like, the sound is pretty good, the play is nice, and the price is what makes me think about getting it.

But, is it a good investment of $225? Is it something that will last, that has reliability, and that can take a bit of punishment? Or is it something that will break the next time an over-sized moth lands on it?

If it's not worth it, then I guess I get to save up for the used GT7. My first Conklin!!:D

    Rock on

What you using the acoustic for? I've read threads on here in which folks claim that the acoustics just don't provide enough volume even though they're played through an amp. For jazz, I find them to be too bright and for rock too soft. Do you play in an acoustic folk thing? I guess that's what they're best for. I have a Carvin AC40 that is a semi hollowbody and with tapewound strings, it does the jazz things quite nicely.
