been playing 4 string fretted my whole life. I'm really interested in picking up a 5-string to go along with my Ric 4003.

Any opinions on good models to target? On Ebay, I bid on a Washburn Force 5 (but lost). Certainly would like to hear some opinions here.

We play rock, and generally, heavier rock.

I'm gonna get flamed for this, but...

I owned an Ibanez SRX-705 for 6 months a while back. The build quiality of the bass was quite good, and it sounded very good (but hot). The string spacing was too narrow for me so I sold it, but overall it was a decent bass.

Didn't touch my Cirrus though :). If you can find a used Cirrus, snatch it up.

That would be my choice, with Lakland being a close second.

thanks for all the ideas. I'm scanning Ebay and "watching" the ones I could find.

any opinions on the Spector Europe Rebop 5? Seems like it's got good reviews.
