I'm currently searching for a cabinet to go with my SVT PRO 3. I've tried many different cabinets including Eden, SWR, Bag End, GK, and Ampeg. The PR 410 sounded excellent to me and I was wondering what everyone else thought about this cab.Any suggestions on a cab in the 1K price range would be appreciated. Looking for solid lows tones for dub and drum and bass sound but versatile enough for funk and rock. Thanks.
If that is the sound you are looking for, then it would be a great cab for you. I tried one, but ended up buying the SVT410HLF, mainly because I thought that the PR sounded a bit "muddy". To me, the SVT was much punchier, while still having excellent lows. But if you are after the dub sound, then I say go for it.
I own an SVT410HLF and PR410HLF. Of the two, the PR is the more modern-sounding. For my ears, it outperformed an Eden 410XLT enough to warrant a trade... better bottom. BUT... not as much bottom as the SVT410HLF. The SVT cab is a little lighter, smoother, and rumpier! They're both good cabs, depends on what you want. Happy Hunting!
The PR410HLF is very bassy/low but is really IMO only suited to dub. I would go for Eden any day because of the clarity in the mids and highs. Just my opinion...
