Alright so my birthday is today, turned 20. My mom was roaming around the net, and found the rondo music site, and saw that they sold Essex bass' for rather cheap. I've known about the site for quite some time and have always thought about buying an Essex. She told me that she would buy one of my choice off of the site for my birthday if I'd like.

So my question to you is, I play a 97' Warwick Corvette standard as my main bass. I know Essex bass' are cheap, but I'm wondering about the feel and playabilty compared to a Fender? If it would be worth it, or to just take the money put it aside and save for a nice MIM or MIA Fender?

I've been wanting to get a lined fretless ever since I played my friends lined fretless Peavey about 4 years ago. I love how P-bass' play and I was looking into Essexes lined fretless P-bass. Link below

How do Essexes play? feel? what's the tone like? I would be willing to upgrade the pickups and bridge if the feel of the bass was good enough?

So what do you guys have to say?

p.s. I'm sorry if my post is jumbly and un-understandable.
