    -Peavey Max 450 head pushing 450 watts @ 2ohms
-(2) Peavey 210 TVX cabs, they are rated @ 175 RMS and 350 peak.

Would I be pushing too many watts to these cabs? enough to possibly blow the speakers?

    Thanks!

Nah that's not too much power. Should be portable and reasonably loud enough to gig with. If the price is right, then go for it.

Only question is what the impedence of each cab is. To get max power each cab must be 4 ohms. If they are 8ohms you will not get the full 450 watts from the head (as the total load will be 4 ohms, not 2).

yes, both cabs will be 4ohms.

I've already got one of the cabs and I've thought about buying another cab with a 15" but they are all really heavy. I'm looking for something a little more portable.

Check out the B115 neo from Avatar. It weighs in around 50lbs which isn't too horrible. Can be had in 4 ohms or 8.

that's not bad, you'd have headroom but you'd have more volume if you used a 4ohm 4x10, 1x15 or 4x12 plus the 2x10. I have a similar rig. Peavey Nitrobass (the older Max 450) Peavey bx 1x15 and Peavey 2x10 tvx.

And Avatar SB112 would work well too, and is a good comromise to look into.

Okay looks like plans have changed.....came up on a great deal on a Peavey Firebass head, which is:

    Rated Power & Load:
    700 W RMS into 2 ohms
    475 W RMS into 4 ohms
    275 W RMS into 8 ohms

and I've come up on an Eden 410 cab that's 8 ohms.

If I decided to run the Eden cab along with the Peavey 210(4 ohm) cab, would this be okay?

I've heard mixed opinions that one cab may be louder than the other, some say that it's not good for the amp, etc.

    What do you think?

Any and all opinions are appreciated!

  10. The amp should handle that fine (~2.6 ohms) and will put out about 600watts ( i think, correct me if im wrong)

Ive got a firebass through a single 4ohm peavey cab, good stuff, (still use it now n then even tho ive got an SVT II ;) )

So this cab ^^ should be fine? I wouldn't risk the chance of blowing the speakers?

What about one cab being louder than the other? Is this true?
