Hey I saw one of those "Lightwave" (i hope that's what it's called) basses, and I was wondering... How does the Optical pickup work, and are there any advantages or disadvantages?

    cheers

Their advantage is supposedly zero colouring (no feedback / interaction between string-pickup) of tone, and response from 5Hz to 50kHz. The sensors are infrared diodes rather than ''lasers'' (sorry Dr. Evil)
