    Hey everybody :bassist:

    I hope you're all well.

Quick question to those out there using Orange Bass Gear.

I recently picked up the BT1000 and OBC410 and I think it sounds good, but from this to my old rig, I'm missing some character that I used to get.

When I use distortion, it's sounds really glassy and shrill. I've got an old 80's Rat pedal that I use, and it's got TONS of character, but the character seems to get lost on my BT1000 where as with my old Workingman's Pro 15 it sounds great!

I want to keep the orange, and make it sound right because I know they are amazing, reliable, and powerful products. Would changing the tubes out, or maybe adding a Sansamp preamp or Eden World Tour pedal help out with this situation?

I spent a lot of money on this rig, and I don't want to sell it. I love the power, and for my non-distorted rock/indie tones it sounds awesome.

I tossed a pair of mullards in mine and it took a lot of that glassy/gritty sound out of the overdrive.
