I'm wondering if my 410 was mis-wired. It sounds a bit muddy if significant power isn't put through it. I measured resistance with a digi multi meter, and it reads 14 Ohms. I know resistance and impedence are two different animals, but my understanding is that resistance measures lower than impedence. I was expecting to see from 6 to 9 Ohms.

So what do you guys and gals think? Maybe it was wired like one of their guitar cabs? I plan to open it up tomorrow.

  2. Yes, 14 ohms DCR would indicate a 16 ohm cab!

Thanks B String for the confirmation.

I should have bought the Avatar.

  4. Anyone can have a slip in production, you might even find two speakers not even "hooked" up by your description (loose wire).

Solved. One of the leads that should have been positive to positive was negative to positive. I changed the connector to + and I get 6.3 Ohms on the DMM. Since there is no lining in the cab I'm going to line it before I fire it up.
