Orange Rickenbacker?

    I recall from a few months back that someone posted a thread with a link to a 4003 for sale that was akin to an orange burst with black hardware. I thought it looked wicked, but other people thought it didn't look so hot. It said it was a prototype, or something to that extent. However, my searching has failed to yield said thread.

    Could someone here please direct me to the thread? :confused:

    Wow.
    That looks great, but the fretboard wood doesn't look right.

    I love Ricks but I'm not too keen on that one... might be cool for a Halloween gig though. :)

    That was a one-off instrument sold on ebay direct from the Ric factory. They've done 4 or 5 of these so far. They're just factory-one-off experiments. This was a honeyburst with checkered binding and black hardware. I believe the fretboard was cocabolo, or some kind of different wood, but I don't remember specifically. There was also a metallic purpleburst guitar that they posted a couple months ago. Very cool stuff.

    Word over on the Rick forums is they are getting ready to list another one-off instrument this week.
