Hey Y'all, I finally found what I was looking for ... a 5 string Tele Bass.
I was reading the Dude Pit last fall when this llink was posted.

I gasses over it for a while but never went any further.

Well as some of you may know I recently redesigned Brian Barrett's website (great guy BTW). We got to talking while I was working on it and I got thinkin' again... then I saw this one...

Almost what I see in my head...

The color scheme is to approximate the 1961 Jazzmaster I learned guitar on that looked like this:

What do y'all think? The wife is gonna kill me if I don't stop talking about it :)

    it's a guitar... electric guitar, come on... you can say it....g u i t a r ....

I just ordered my bass, the Butterscotch is Chris Benavente's personal bass (I think that's what was said). He's just starting to order stuff for mine. I'll be posting updates as I get pictures and such. It'll be a couple months build time.

Man, I can't wait

  7. Hey, I just wanted to let you know that thelowend.net website looks great. Now, all you need to do is get Evan att Bassnw.com to hire you (maybe in trade out) and their cheesy looking website will look good too. ;)

Thanks Chris, I'm a net-admin but in this economy I'll take what I can get ;) As Brian mentioned I am in the middle of redoing the Benavente site too. It should be live in the next week or so.

I'd be happy to entertain web work offers ;)

... hmmmm isn't Evan both an Ashdown and BagEnd dealer.

man, I can't wait till my bass is done :D

I know I picked a color scheme that is 10 years newer then the body style... but I really think it'll work nicely

Do you mean the color scheme like this... Creme or Olmpic White with a tortoiseshell guard, my favorite look... The new website looks great.... Steve..

  15. Welcome to the Benavente family! I like the scheme you've picked, I think it will look really cool, and will be rather unique!

looks like you had a set of twins (boy and girl), unfortunitly I can't tell what the other two (SC5 & The 51) are. I guess The 51 is a male, but thats an ugly girl if the SC5 is female. Nasty moles on her face :D

James did a wonderful job onthe site!!! THANKS

  19. Wow, some of those basses look amazing.

Ultra Jazz pickups with a Swamp Ash body? Sounds like a slap config, but then you mentioned the flats.....I think that thing oughta sound great.

Thanks, I'm banking on the tone. I think the flat + the Maple + the Swamp Ash should kill :bassist:
