Rather than spend $1300 on a new Hellcat, I ordered a new Schecter TB-1 bass. This is a discontinued model from last year that is based on Schecter's Tempest body style. It's part of the made in Korea Diamond Series line. I have owned a Diamond Series TSH-1 guitar for over a year now, and I can honestly say that it is built better than most American made Fenders or Gibsons. When the instruments come in from Korea, the guys at Schecter's California shop perform a set-up job, intonate them, touch up and solder connections that may need it, dress any frets that may need it, etc.

Electronics consist of a Seymour Duncan MM pickup, volume control, bass cut/boost, mid cut/boost, and treble cut/boost.

Here's what it looks like. I got it in the black finish shown. I'll post actual pics and a review when I get it later this week.
