    Hi,

Just want to give some credit to Jeff Senn, who is a luthier in Nashville. He built me a Jazz Bass a year ago, and I have played this axe constantly since. I have owned Sadowsky and old fender jazz basses as well....I'm not saying this Senn bass is better than any of the other jazzes, but it is IMO in the same league, and suits me perfect. Jeff specialises in vintage replicas, and let me tell you this guy knows what he is talking about! He is probably most famous for building guitars, but he can make a bass that will rock the house!....The best thing about Jeff is that he will make it exactly as you want, plus he is very much in touch with you about the features etc., and finally the price is under 2000$ and it's done under 6 months. To me that's probably one of the greatest deals around!

I have offcourse only tried that one Senn bass, but I'm sure that it's the standard of his work. The feel, tone and overall appearence of this bass is just extraordinary...it doesn't feel and sound like a new bass, but has that dry woody full vintage tone and a broken in-feel that I have never experienced with a new instrument. If you are looking for something like a Fender CS, Lakland J or P or anything that will give you vintage feel and tone, I would suggest you call Jeff and hear what he has to offer....

By the way my bass is the olympic white in the photo gallery....cheers and happy holidays :)

Jeff is a good friend of mine here in Nashville. He does all of my repair and setup work and builds fantastic basses and guitars. I was at his shop the other day picking up a bass and saw the blank body for the p bass he's going to build you!! Anyone needing a custom instrument should give him a shout.

yeah, it was nice--he also had blanks for a early 50's style p he's putting together for himself and bodies for some guitars. A finished strat that he had there was very cool too. I will see him after the new year--i'll say hey for you. take care--tim

Very cool man! It's great that there are so many ridiculously good luthiers out there building Jazz and P style basse with such good QC and super high quality. There's so many options for us in just TWO body styles! We can get so personalized without even going into a custom body shape. Gotta love it :D :bassist:
