Anyone have any recommendations for strings for Oscar four string EAB? I went to my local shop today and the DR E .105 string was too thick. Anyone have a preference for Oscars? Our know what would work better. It could just be the DR strings because the last inch of the string is thicker than the rest of the string, so it wouldnt feed the last inch all the way through the bridge hole. Thanks!

Thanks, it was the right lenght. The end of the string by the nut was too wide to fit through the bridge tho.

That may be the case with a lot of standard rounds then.

LaBella has a taper section by the ball end on their flatwounds that is pretty cool, that may help them fit.

Just peaked at a couple random ABG Bronze strings and by the ball seems a little thinner.

To fit on some bridges, some users take a pair of needle nose pliers and compress the windings by the ball end, (that is if its only a little bit that is keeping them from fitting).

Some other users will actually file the bridge to fit larger strings like tape wounds etc...
