  1. I was practicing yesterday and experienced a sharp pain in my fretting hand on my wrist (on my pinky side). It's still sort of around today. What should I do? Stop practicing/playing for a couple of days?

    do you warm up your hands and arms before you play? i always stritch my fingers out in sort of "grasping" motions, really stretch them, and also rotate my wrists, wait a minute or two and then do a gentle finger a fret up and down the board excercise before i launch into anything serious. seems to get rid of hand pain, on the reccomendation of my tutor.

    Wise Lewk....would you start sprinting without stretching or light jogging?

    I would rest your hand a couple of days. Be sure to try the stretching exercises suggested by Lewk and RicPlaya, they work. I had a similar problem and had to start holding/wearing my bass different so my wrist wasn't at such a sharp angle. No problems since. I do warm up before hand also.
