our latest gig

  1. we finally bought a new camera, computer, etc.

so, we're back doing the online video posting thing.

we're planning to buy a ride cymbal and go pro cameras, for added angles for our videos.

the sound in the video is from the camera's mic with some editing to hear the vocals. we have a zoom h4npro. for future videos, should we use the zoom's audio?

    any other tips or suggestions?

That cut has a very punk vibe that I totally dig. I would consider a bit better set up on the audio gear; it's a little hard to hear the vocal in this video and it seems like that ought to be the thing that shines. Very driving bass line, good job!

If I'm ever in your neck of the woods, count me in for five bucks and a Pabst or three.

Doesn't sound bad for a camera mic. I listened thru basic earphones & it was on the edge but wasn't clipping. But I gotta think the Zoom would be a lot better. Maybe try additional mics/stereo off the board along with the extra camera angles & mix them for a superior sound. But my experience is limited to research, not real world use. ;)
  4. i forgot that we have an audiotechnica compressor, shure dynamic mic, and akg bass mic. we can plug two of them into the zoom.

That is plenty of kit, maybe think about fx like compression or EQ to clean it up. Your live sound and recorded sound don't need to be exactly the same, so you can cut frequencies out of recording without losing any quality. This seems like something that could be addressed during mix down and make everything sound that much better
