My bass quickly gets out of tune so I'm wondering what commonly is the problem when an instrument acts like that and how can I fix it? Could adjusting the neck work?

Don't know how long you've been playing so please don't take offense. Have you got enough of the string wrapped around the post? Are your strings round core? If so, did you crimp (bend) the string before you trimmed it for length? I know that DR recommends doing that to keep the string from unraveling after installation.

Actually, Joshua, I did mean to quote you. I was just adding to your suggestions but didn't make that clear.

  4. Does it go out of tune while you're playing it or does it happen when the bass is idle? Are the strings binding in the nut?
