Outboard Graphic Equalizer

Hey Guys And Good Morning,

I own a Peavey combo 115 with a 210tvx external enclosure. I get plenty of volume, but the tone shaping leaves a little to be desired. The bottom end is muddy, the high end is crystal clear,and the mids sound like they are in a barrel ,very nasal sounding. I don`t know if it`s the bass i`m using (peavey fury), or i am plain ignorant in the tone department. At any rate would a dedicated eq run through the effects loop be a good solution? I`m talking about a good quality rack mount unit. If any of you have any advice, i would be ever so grateful to hear it. Thanks In Advance.
