Output To Slave 2.5v 5kohms ??????

Discussion in 'Amps and Cabs [BG]' started by jaguarcat311, Mar 23, 2005.

  1. I have a strange 1974 amp made by vibration technology. its 60 watts, 8 ohms, and there is an output on the front that i have no idea what to do with. it says : Output To Slave 2.5v 5kohms
i have never heard of anything like that before. i know a guitar is around 500 ohms and a mic is 50k ohms, but what has an input like that?
  2. Just a wild-assed guess, but I'd say it's for running another amp.

I'm also only guessing, but at 2.5 volts, it sound like it's an output that is after the pre-amp. I think it may be an output that lets you use the pre-amp section of that amp to drive a seperate power amp??? Just guessing.......

Lots of power amps are close to that. Prolly 5K is the specified minimum load impedance to get a full 2.5volts output?
