Hey there, I have an interesting question for you all. On your BTB bass, whether it be the four string, the five string, or the six string (it's pretty much the same preamp, except if you include the bartolini ones which you shouldn't)....what do you usually set the preamp on the bass to? i.e do you have the mid's up, treble down...whatever. What do you use for "slap" settings? Jazz settings? Funk settings? Fill me in You can list whatever you like, you don't have to be stuck to those three btw Thank you very much!
Normal EQ: Bass: 3/4 on. Mids: Flat, with the freq selector around the middle. Treble: 2/3 on. (Good old smiley face eq! ) Slap EQ: Boost the mids a bit... erm... thats pretty much it DC
IMHO, your "normal EQ" sounds like a Slap EQ to me. Just IMHO of course. Usually if a bass has a slap contour etc., it basically cuts out the mids or lowers the mids. just mho DM
yeah, they are very similar... I just boost the mids a bit when doing some slap to work in conjunction with the eq on my amp... DC
my btb settings: bass-full,treble-full,blend-slightly turned to bridge pickup,mid-full,frequency-3/4 o'clock postion,volume-full ,i like a lot a 500Hz,setting on my amp.
