I've got a P-bass I picked up in a pawn shop. It's got a strange feature that perplexes me a bit. The neck dimensions are closer to a Jazz than a Precision. I'd even go as far as to say the nut width may be even skinnier than your average Jazz. I don't know the exact date on the instrument, the shop said it was a "76. I had one other reasonably knowledgeble person tell me it was a '74. But the headstock, in the older, bold lettered logo clearly says"Precision Bass". Did Fender make P's with J necks occassionally? Is this some sort of anomaly? I love the way this neck feels!
