Alright, I play alot of pop-punk/punk/indie rock. I want to get a bass that I'd never have to buy another one. Would you get a Fender American Precision Bass with a Duncan QP-3 p/up, or a Ernie Ball Musicman Stingray.

  2. i'd go with the stingray. a P-bass is great too, but if you want one with a quarter pounder it implies you're going for a certain style which i think the stingray does better.

Both will do the job, but the Ray is cooler. It has has more "punch"

Out of the 2, I'd say Stingray. Though I'd get a Sterling or an G&L L-2000... have anyone seen the Black Onyx ltd ed Sterling? Badass.

I am more a Fender person than I am MM (though that could change I suppose). In any case you are choosing from two excellent basses. I would play them both and let your ears, fingers, and heart decide.
