P Bass Pickup Install help

I just installed a set of SD 1/4 lb pickups in a MIM P Bass I just bought.

The problem I am having ,which seems to be common with p bass pickups, is the back pickup wants to tilt backwards towards the bridge. The front went in and stays straight, but the back pickup tilts backwards towards the bridge. I can firmly push it forward, but I can't think of a good way to keep it pushed forward.

I used the foam from the original pickups because the little rubber tubes that come with the SD pickups seem to be useless.

    Any tips?
or is the tilting not really a problem?
  2. Put more foam (or even foamed double-face tape), that way you get some pressure applied from your screws.

You may even try filling your old screw holes (wood glue and toothpicks work) and try drilling new screw holes. When doing this, use the pickup as a guide, but apply some tape to the drill bit to protect your pickups from being reamed.

I put more foam and filed the pickguard alittle to give it more room. It helped enough to satisfy me.
