Can anyone tell me where I can get pickups for a 5 string bass that sound exactly like Fenders 4 string P bass pickups? Preferably active ,and im looking along the lines of duncans or emgs.

Actually I think passive pickups are a very important part of the Fender P sound.

But I believe EMG makes some active 5 string split Ps. I have no idea how they work, do they split the middle poles over two pickups? Or do they use rails?

Another post showed a vintage 5 string P made by Fender. It used asymmetrical sections, one side handled three strings and the other two. I would guess this would cause a problem with hum.

I would imagine the EMGs would be rails. Anyway, do you know their name? I saw split P-style EMGs for 6 string, but Im not sure they will work for a 5.
