    I have a lower end P-style bass. It's a Lyon by Washburn.

I have had all kinds of Jack troubles, so I want to replace the jack. Since this is a backup bass, I want to experiment a little.

I personally prefer the tone of the bass at full volume, so I was wandering if there is any way that I can wire the bass to bypass a volume knob, but include a passive treble and bass cut.

I have never worked with wiring before, so good descriptions, perhaps even diagrams would be GREATLY appreciated.

    Thank you in advance!

    look for G&L diagrams.

they have a passive volume, tone (treble cut) and bass cut knobs.

(although i have to say that with a passive bass, there's no point at all in a bass-cut knob!)

I could see useing some bass cut if your P pup is in neck position and your wanting to give it a more bridge position type voicing. But Id have to reccomend concidering a good inexpensive 2 band active eq preamp instead. If you later sell the bass you could remove the preamp and turn it back to passive tone.
