What do you guys make of a P-bass tone knob that boost the volume significantly as it's rotated clockwise to full open? Treble does become more pronounced but the most noticeable effect is getting a rush of mids that increases apparent volume. Not complaining, but what would cause this?
If there's no battery in the bass I suspect that what's happening is that when turned counterclockwise there's some sort of shorting going on resulting in a partial loss of signal; as you turn it CW the full signal is restored resulting in an apparent volume boost. Just a guess.
