P-Bass with Flatwounds Sound Clips

Discussion in 'Basses [BG]' started by Mr. Jiggy Fly, Mar 27, 2005.

  1. Hey guys, I was hoping you could help me. I couple weeks ago I heard some sound clips of a P-bass with Dadarrio Chromes, but I cant find where the clip is. It was somebodies signature. Do you guys know who? Also, do you know where I could find some clips of a p-bass with flatwounds?

    Thanks :)

Don't know where you can find the clips, but I just switched to D'Addario Chromes last week. I've always been a nickle round players, but I tell ya, I'm luvin these chromes. Sooooo smooth, no string noise, easy on the fingers, etc. They are not nearly as muddy or dead sounding as some might say about flats in general. They have pretty good output and are pretty well defined to my surprise.

Granted they are no stainelss round in terms of brightness, but MUCH better than I thought they would be! Sound great on my USA G&L L-2500!!!

I play a P-bass with Chromes but it wasn't me. If you want to hear a P with flats just turn on the oldies station and wait till some Motown comes on.
