i'm getting ready to add a jazz pup to my p bass. dimarzio dp126 p/j to be exact. i was thinking of keeping it super simple and going with a blend knob only. i never adjust the tone and work the volume from my amp anyway.

so, is this a sound idea? what can i expect tonewise since i'll be bypassing the tone cap? will it affect output? just curious.
    thanks!

nothing wrong with it. it won't affect output, but the signal should be more 'pure' - by bypassing the tone cap you'll avoid the minimal bleed you'll still get even with tone at full

    FWIW:

if you wanted to play with caps, as far as I know, there's no reason you couldn't through a cap between the blend and the jack to brighten or darken overall tone. Never thought about it, but you may be able to throw a cap(s) between the crossovers on the blend to just affect the P pup.
