i am planning on upgrading my sh!!ty squire BP15 amp, up to somehting more like 20-25watts. I am looking to spend about £200 - any ideas? suggestions?
  2. Peavey Microbass is one the best practice amps around. 20 watts and less than £100.

Also, I think Ashdown have recently released a new series of bass practice amps that look quite cool, but I haven't seen any reviews around. Worth checking out though I think ;)

Are Fender Bassman 25s available over there? I've been impressed with the ones I've played in stores - it's my usual choice when I demo a bass.

i have used this hartke B-30 since 1998, it replaced my peavy minx. The hartke has way better tone, for all styles of playing. I got it on sale
    for $139.[IMG]

Why would you get a second practise amp? Don't waste your time upgrading by 5 or 10 watts. Go for something that'll able you to jam with a band or atleast be heard over a drummer. This is such a common mistake. I'm telling you, save your money till you can get someting in the 50 - 100 watt range or in a couple months you'll have a two amp practise amps and nothing useful beyond sitting in your room alone.

go down you local music store mate. you can get alot more than a ****ty ass 20 watt practice amp for £200. trust me. for example this Peavey Basic 112 Bass Combo comes in at £209 and is 50watt, and i'll add some of the nicest sounding 50watts in this price range!

theres 60wattthis AXL B60 60watt combo. and although i dont know abuot the brand im sure it's worth a demo.

I bought in the United States for $99 USD each from:

I have seen them listed in the UK for about 120 British Pounds.

I use one for small acoustic guitar and P.A. combo for lounge jobs with great results. It is also a nice 60 watt bass/keyboard amp. Ric Douglas, San Diego, California USA
