hey Mike, you're in the NYC general area, right? With all the motorheads/racers that you know, do you know anyone who can do some sheet metal fabrication for me. I'm installing a floor shifter in my 02 Dakota and I need to make a mount/filler plate for the stock console. I can provide an accurate cardboard template of what I need. It does need to be made out of some pretty sturdy aluminum or steel stock though. Let me know, thanks.

I'm just wondering why you don't have Rick from OCC make it for you?

I considered it, LOL. But, it would probably cost millions. There's a custom builder by my house, I plan on visiting them tomorrow. I could do it myself, if i had the fabrication tools. It's frustrating, I want to finish the project, but I'm not going to buy thousands in tools to do it. What would be really cool is if someoen could let me use their shop. I'm sure I could bust it out in a couple of hours.

Time for a trip to the tool store. I like taking on new projects because it means I get to get some new tools so I can do it!! :)

OCC may charge you a fortune, but they would probably also make an entire episode about it. Rick, Paulie, and Paul Sr. all arguing about your filler plate. Heck, maybe even Vin would jump in to the fray.

  9. I used to go to the same gym as them... I almost walked into Paul Sr. in the freeweights section... then realized who he was.

Then saw Paulie playing volleyball and Mike benchpressing. Kind of neat.
