  2. Because Photobucket has chosen to in effect "take down" everyone's photos (unless you pay them), we have extended post edit time in the Luthier's Corner to UNLIMITED.  If you used photobucket and happen to still have your images of builds, you can go back and fix as many of your posts as far back as you wish.

Paint Job a la Hendrix?

Discussion in 'Luthier's Corner' started by SundanceChile, Feb 8, 2006.

  1. Mods, feel free to move this if I accidently put this in the wrong forum.

Assuming you guys have seen the finishes on Hendrix's Monterey Pop strat and Psychadelic Flying V, exactly what paint materials would he use that would stick the finish like that? My mind is drawing a TOTAL blank, and seeing as I have access to a bass body, as well as an amazing artist, I figured it would be worth a shot to combine our loves of music and painting. Any info would be a great help.

i'd just send it to GMW. they've done that graphic before...it's in their gallery. but that's just me.

  3. Thing is, we want to do it ourselves, plus, we don't want a replica of the MP strat, but something that reflects our individual styles. Perhaps they would know what kind of paint would stick onto the body without stripping and refinishing the wood?
