i was looking at Korg PX3B on ebay. They have a stink load of effects and a 4 band eq, but how are they amp models?

It all depends on your expectation. No amp model is going to fool you into thinking you are playing through an least none I have ever heard.

If the purpose of the unit is for practice, the models are adequate in giving the "flavor" of a few different types of amps. For home recording, ditto.

For use live, well, I don't find the Pandora too great for live use, the interface is too fiddly to easily call up preset sounds or tweak them as needed on a gig.

My experience with the Pandora was less than thrilling. I had a PX4B for a little while and returned it. It was OK for what it is, which is a cool headphone amp, but I couldn't get any good sounds out of it when I plugged it into an amp. Kind of hissy, and made a sort of thump when switching patches.
