I'm still trying to find an explanation for a pickup problem I'm having. I'm working on a passive bass with a blend pot. Everything sounds fine when the volume is dimed, but there is a noticeable click and a steep drop in volume when the volume pot is turned just slightly down. I changed pots and it does the same thing. Does this have something to do with the blend pot? Any insights would be appreciated.

  5. blend pots are usually 2 volume pots on top of each other wired in different directions. I would guess that the pop and sound loss is due to a dirty spot in that blend pot.

Contact cleaner and twist it like mad both directions. If it get any better you know thats the problem.
