    I thought this could become an interesting thread...

    To all you Passive JB users, what control settings do u use for different styles ex:

    for the Jaco sound: neck vol = OFF
    brigde vol = FULL
    tone = 3/4 OFF

    thanks....

    I tend to just put the knobs all the way up mostly. That explains why my tone sounds like crap.

    For anything with a pick, I put the bridge pickup at about 1/3 and leave the neck at full, kinda like a cheap P-style, I guess :p .

  3. On my Reverend Rumblefish, which has the J-bass set up, I usually run both volumes and the tone wide open. But I have found lately that I really like the tone with the bridge pickup rolled off.

    This is what I've used for years on my 62 J.

    Fingerstyle: Neck pickup rolled down about 1/4 inch, bridge pickup full.
    Slap: Neck pickup full, bridge pickup rolled down about 1/4 inch. Tone knob maxxed (full treble) at all times.

    On both my P's and J's I turn the knobs up all the way.

    Jazz bass with single coil pick-up's= Both up all the way. Can't hang with the single coil hum. This way the pick-ups are humbucking as a set.
