Although I've been a 4-string devotee' (snob) for years,
I've been thinkin' of slappin' together a Warmoth-type fretless 5-string.
K.I.S.S. rule: one passive pup. Two that come to mind are the
RioGrande Powerbucker or a Bart P-type (for 5's).
There's a Leo Quan Bada** bridge for fives, or maybe a
    Gotoh 206-type (for through-body stringing).

I read about the development of Fender's Roscoe Beck (passive).
I recall there was tweakin' on the pups because of some weirdness
    in the upper registers.

    Any thoughts ?
