    Someone help

I've got a lakland 55-94 and I love it to death.

Just installed the LH3 pickups and couldn't be happier with their passive sound. their... passive...sound

When I engage the preamp I feel like I'm loosing some oomph .. some of the gentle high end. It's replaced with stale high end and processed mids.

Is there a passive system or a wiring diagram that you guys have found to work that is as versatile as an active preamp?

    I'm looking for either:

    1. the most passive sounding active system

    2. a passive system that would be equally versatile in sound modification
