I got to see a great concert over the weekend featuring Patricia Reid on double bass and her husband David on Trombone. It was a great show with maybe a hundred people there(mostly music students). She was amazing. She had two old basses, one with an extension and one without. The music included: Bottesini's Elgia in G, and Tarantella in A minor, Hindemith's Sonata for Double bass and Piano (all four parts) and some duets by Elgar. The evening ended with a quintette and finally a septette(sp?) playing Stravinsky's L'Histoire du Soldat. I was blown away. It literally left me speachless.
