How do you guys like Paulownia for a bass body? Is it too light and soft? Does is require ultra lite tuners to balance?

hopefully I’ll have the body routed this weekend to see how it balances and holds screws. So far I like it, but I’m cautiously optimistic lol

initial thought Is yes lightweight tuners and a strap button that extends to or past the 12th otherwise neck dive city.

    answering as a player:
love mine! i have three of them and two of the bodies are on playable/gigging instruments.
they're not too light for me! they're a gas to play because they're so light! (YMMV) mine are finished with some pretty thick poly, so they don't 'seem' too soft.
both of my axes needed them to balance: hipshot ultralites on a PJ, and gotoh carbon fibers on a P. no diving.

edit: i got my bodies from glarry instruments --- bought the whole ax(es) just for the lightweight bodies --- and then modded (reassembled) with new necks/hardware/electronics.
