PBass + Warwick = ??

Discussion in 'Basses [BG]' started by maxcoleman, Apr 4, 2003.

  1. I am trying to find a bass that can span the sound of a Pbass and a Warwick. I have been recommended to try out an F-Bass or a Wal.

Does anybody have any comments and/or recommendations.

    thanks, Max

  2. how about a warwick with a P pickup? they do make a PJ model. maybe a PJ warmoth with a wenge neck?

Gallien Krueger for the last 12 years!
Try a Streamer Stage 1 4 or an LX 4. They both have p/j p'ups.

To be frank, I think an Fbass would be the farthest thing from that sound you're looking for as possible. F's sound nothing like Warwick's. I'd second what Woodchuck says. Acacia's have that same woody tone associated with Warwick as well, but those are now somewhat rare and hard to find used.

Try an MTD 535 with all-wenge neck...works for me!
