Pea Soup is awesome ! I have had some great pea soup in German resturants and even some local NY dinners and pubs.
  9. Canned is never as good as you can get at a restaurant (obviously) but I love that chunky new england clam chowder.

My mother makes split pea soup after she makes a big ham dinner. Strange, I don't like peas, but I love split pea soup.

^My mom also makes it with a big 'ol hambone. I'm not crazy about split pea soup. Something about the texture, I guess.

Now, French onion soup - there's the money soup. When it's served the _right_ way, with floating bread and cheese.

Californians will attest to the fame of Andersons, home of the world-famous split pea soup. They even have mascots, Ha Pea and Pee Wee.
  15. Meh, I can take it or leave it. Clam chowder is how I lean.:D

    Rock on

I love pea soup! My favorite canned variety is Habitant Pea Soup. Get it without the ham. I think they water down the one with ham and you need precision instruments to measure the ham anyway.

For those who have never bought the Habitant Pea Soup, it comes in a larger can and you don't add water. Very thick.
