  2. Pretty decent for the cash, that's about it. Trust me, I know from first hand experience, it's better to save up for a better bass like a Taurus or a lower end Ibanez.

I bought a lower end Peavey a few years ago. Regret it. Save for a higher end bass. If you want a Peavey get a Cirrus...IMO

  4. These seem to be the Millenium series, which were on par with the Cirrus basses. Good deal, I think.

These are the USA made Millenniums which are discontinued.

Are these really USA made basses for only $400? If so that is a deal. They got great reviews on Harmony Central if these are the same ones I was reading about.

    Anyone know any more?

Guys, these will get snapped up fast if Musician's Friend really has found a shipment of these somewhere. Yes, they are discontinued. Musician's Friend is listing them as "limited quantity".

Where do you think they found them? Cleaning out their warehouse? Peavey have a bunch of them lying around?

Either way, these are the good Peaveys. USA made.

The regular price is $1500. That should tell you all you need to know. The import don't sell for that much.

One Plus 4 JB bites the dust...

Info is REAL hard to find on these, but I've checked them out before and they're great basses. I also think they come standard with a real nice OHSC, but we'll see. I have 45 days to decide to keep it, so no worries. I looked up the Margarita color, and it's a really cool sunburst, and I think the "Plus" means it's got a figured top (a real one, not a micro-thin veneer).

    I'll post a review.

    Vic,

Every Margarita finish that I have seen has looked more like a Tiger Eye finish of a lighter color. Very different from sunburst IMO. FYI, it is a R-E-A-L maple top.

Cool, yeah, I found this picture on the net, and it was labeled as the 4 Plus JB in Margarita... way cool finish... I guess the bottom line is the bass below should be what I'm getting in a few days. Sweeet.

Very close but the American made versions were of a lighter color. Imagine the color of a regular Margarita with a tiger eye finish? :) Regardless, for $400.00 it's an awesome bass. I currently own a Millennium Plus 4 & Plus 5 that I paid more than the current price MF price of $400.00. Now mine have the J/MM pickup configuration but are great instruments. I have always wanted to get one of the J/J basses but timing has always been wrong. :(

I think the pic you posted is tiger eye.

Assuming you found it here: http://www.sound.pl/prod/1767/30.htm

That's a Polish site. It says "Kolor: Margarita lub Tiger Eye"

I did some checking and "lub" is Polish for "or" and a I am guessing the one pictured is Tiger Eye, not margarita, even though when you click the link to the large icon it says "margarita" at the top.

So I guess we'll be wondering what Margarita really looks like. Hopefully it is not pink. :)

Yeah, that's the site, but nope, I was going by the file name of the graphic "Millenium 4 Plus JB Margarita.jpg". Nevertheless, as long as it's not that weird seafoam green color they show on the site, I'm ok with it. Heck, maybe even then. For the money, it's a fantastic utility bass.

I guess the bottom line is it's gotta' be some kind of transparent finish, because the "Plus" means figured top, so it'd be stupid to put a finish on that covered it up.

Oh, I almost forgot... when I ordered mine, some sort of $20 coupon automatically showed up so it actually only cost me 379 (shipped). Did anyone else see the same thing?

  19. This is killing me!!! I've been wanting one of these for a while but can't swing it right now. Dibs on the 1rst one in the classifieds!!! Oh yeah if I'm not mistaken the standards are P/J that might be pretty cool.

This is a fantastic deal. These are not low end basses at all. USA Millenniums have a quality level on par with G&L or Musicman. I currently play a Millennium Plus V and it takes a backseat to no bass. At $299 and $399, I wish I could scratch up some cash myself.
