Peavey Black Widow 1888 HP BWX: No Info at Peavey

Discussion in 'Amps and Cabs [BG]' started by Count Bassie, Nov 29, 2012.

  1. I have inherited a new basket with the above model #. I have a 7 ^ft Thiele cab to go with it (might be huge!), and a magnet. But I haven't been able to find any info on it. I may want to mod the cab, and would like to load the TS parameters into WinISD- but can't find specs. Anyone have a clue?

  2. did you check their website or contact CS directly? The latter should be able to help you.
  3. I have not written them- I posted here 'cause I "don't want to wait for them to get back to me"! :scowl: Very sad, I know. But there's nothing on their web site about this basket. Only the Low-Rider, 1801, 1804 and 1808.

    Okay, I'm going...!

In my experience Peavey gets back to you pretty quick even for off hand questions. Can't hurt to ask, the longer you wait the longer it will be regardless of their response time.Big fan of black widows here so good luck
  5. Thanks guys, yeah I'm getting to it here before the night's over. Funny, this might end up being a great idea for my bass rig. Apparently the speaker can take some juice...

We have at least one engineer at Peavey who posts on here regularly. He might beat their CS to the punch. ;)
  7. We shall see... I've emailed them...

Dont hold me to it but I believe bobbybld is his screen name. I'm on a phone and can't seem to look it up.
  9. I'll look that up from here and mssg him- and I won't tell him who sent me- in case it's not him! Thanks Chris!
  10. No matches... no worries, I'll wait! It's not like I'm in a hurry, I was just being lazy. Meanwhile I'm going to hook this muther up and see...
  11. PV's CS response time is really quick, you'll get an answer very likely tomorrow, they're on CST.
  12. Great, thanks dhsierra1. By the way, any of you guys ever use one of these?
  13. It is probably an 1808 with a smeared 3rd digit.
  14. Ha! Actually in my Google search I came across a forum where a dude mentioned the 1888 being a more powerful version of the 1808...

    We'll see, we'll see... :ninja:
  15. I don't have the 1888 in my library, so an easy/lazy shot was the smeared digit thing.
My eyesight is shot, so small print requires a magnifier. Smeared sounded likely.

If you come across a datasheet, send me a PM so I can add to my library.

No trouble, he is a good person to know :)
  19. I just wrote him. And now, here in East Coast Land, it is late, and I shall depose myself. Thanks again all- talk to you on the morrow!
